Jordanian culture finds its roots in the Arabic tradition.A rigorous and austere Islamic formalism merges today with more Western cultural influences to create one of the more moderate and liberal countries in the Middle East. This evolving country, home to some unique geographical wonders of the world, acts as the "bridge" between East and West.
An exhibition called Unveiled Jordan will take place at the Palazzo Morando, as part of the Fuori Bit. Photographs taken by important photo reporters from Milan combined with the works of Jordanian photographers offer a lively and multicultural vision of Jordan to visitors.
The exhibition, sponsored by the City of Milan, the Lombardy Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, is also supported by Her Majesty Queen Rania, a Jordanian political and social icon, as well as a figure inextricably linked to the world of fashion, whose grace, beauty and elegance has inspired famous Milanese fashion designers.

Over the centuries, many of the world’s artistic and cultural masterpieces have originated in France. The country of Enlightenment and birthplace to many world-renowned artists, philosophers and writers, France focuses its attention on democratic and experimental art.
In honour of the Fuori Bit, France invites you to an exclusive rendez-vous at 7pm on Friday February 18th: a French ‘apéritif’ in the exclusive setting of the Ambrosiana Library. A particularly pertinent choice given the relations that bind France and Italy, and especially Milan, who is delighted to welcome France and to strengthen the cultural ties that exist between the two countries.
The event is also an opportunity to savour French gastronomy, which has recently been added to the UNESCO “Intangible World Heritage” List.

From Flemish art to the Post-Impressionism of Van Gogh, as well as the abstraction of Mondrian and numerous other architectural, scientific and philosophical movements, The Netherlands includes among its assets a long list of thinkers and artists who have helped to make Dutch culture so unique.
2011 promises to be rich in surprises for art and culture lovers. Some major museums (re) open their doors to the public: the Grachtenhuis (The Canal House Museum), the Stedelijk Museum (contemporary art) and the Scheepvaartmuseum (Maritime Museum).
As part of the BIT, the Triennale di Milano, in collaboration with Premsela and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Milan, offers a series of interviews, open to everyone on the 18th and 19th of February. The aim of these talks is to explore the notion of a cultural industry based on the first-hand experience of avant-garde designers, intellectuals and industrial experts, including the designer Wittershoven Thomas, founder of the study of visual communication Thonik Amsterdam. His work is presented in the Worlds Graphic Design exhibition, open until March 27, 2011.
